I've been remiss. I've not updated this place in a while. Unfortunately, the last time I did come to update a few weeks ago, I deleted the entire list. I don't know how I did it, but it's gone. I'm working to reconstruct it. God help me.
And yeah, I gave up writing book reviews around June. Need to do more of those too.
Next year I'll do a better job. :)
3/13/08 New Look Whoa, two updates in one week!!
I decided to revamp the look round here. Now this site matches the blog. Too bad the formatting didn't convert as easily as the template did.
*slaps all the extra HTML special characters I now have to correct*
Update 3/11/08 I've made some minor adjustments.
First, I have completely tossed Patrick O'Brian, NJO and George RR Martin off the series list for the time being. Not that I don't want to read them, but I realized I have reading ADD. I see a book or a series and instantly plunge right in. Goodness.
Secondly, I've made one of my blogs into an accompanying reading blog. It's the why I read what I do, and what I'm thinking as I'm reading. Ultimately, it'll help me gel my reviews a little better.
Thirdly, I'm in the process of cleaning up the reviews and categorizing them, a daunting task I know, but I've already 20 books under my belt and a Singles Menu that is officially out of hand.
That's about it for now.
Happy Reading!
About The Challenge Last summer I came across a Shelfari Community called the 50 Book Challenge. The intention was to read 50 books in a calendar year. I thought it was another meme to do, and while I usually avoid them, I decided keeping track of the books I read would be fun. There were no set parameters, save ones set for yourself, and no social humiliation if you failed to miss your mark. The only thing asked of you is to set a goal and read. So I did.
Between June 2007 until December 31, 2007 I read a total of 51 books. On occasion I would write little blurbs about them, but more often than not, reads that really impressed received a double asterisk. This year, I've decided to write reviews about all the books, grading them with coffee.
To that end I made this site to keep track of all my reads. I suppose one could say it's my New Year resolution. Not simply reading, but reflecting on what I've read.
Another New Year Resolution is a commitment to read several series this year that I've put off.
C.S. Forester-- Hornblower Saga
Patrick O Brian -- Aubrey/Matrin Series
Star Wars -- The New Jedi Order
Sherrilyn Kenyon -- Dark Hunters
Geroge R.R. Martin -- Song of Fire and Ice
This is my version of television and more and more people are jumping on the challenge bandwagon.
